Visitors praise, relish traditional food of Jharkhand

The traditional food stall at Jharkhand Pavillion of 31st Surajkund international Crafts Mela is one of the centres for attraction. The mela, in which Jharkhand is playing a theme state role, has a stall named ‘Johar, Swaad Jharkhand ka’, the stall owned by Dr. Ramnath Prasad, who has been promoting the food of Jharkhand for 32 years. Prasad is a medical practitioner by profession in Maithon Dam Dhanbad.

 The stall is serving Dhuska, Chilka Roti, Marua (Raagi flour) roti served with cooked meat and other items immensely liked by people visiting the mela. Rehu Maacchi, Murg Chawal( Chicken rice), Dal pitha and Doodh Pitha are yet another famous dishes of Jharkhand that are being liked by the visitors.

 litti Chokha, sweet dish where Anarsa, Malpua, Khoye ki Chandrakala and Khaja are also being liked and praised by the visitors.

 Meanwhile, at the State Museum Auditorium, Hotwar, Ranchi, the second batch of 150 artists have reached Ranchi on February 04 and started their 3 day rehearsal programme.  The programme is choreographed by Guru Tapan Pattnayak, a renowned artist of great repute, who is also the Director of Government Chhau Dance, Centre, Saraikella.

The cultural dance forms that will be showcased by these artists include Pyka, Singwa, Chaau Mundari, Manbhoom Chaau, Nagpuri Dance, Santhali Dance, Santhali Sohrai Dance, Birhore Dance, Firkal, Kurmali Song and Saraikela Chaau. After a hectic training schedule the artists will depart to Surajkund on 6th & 8th February 2017.

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry which is facilitator organization that would undertake host of activities in collaboration with the Government of Jharkhand and the Administration of Haryana Tourism to make sure that the State of Jharkhand is showcased effectively in the mela and the tourism potential of the state increase manifold.
