From March 1, all the Government hospitals of the State would witness a change in timings. These hospitals would adhere to summer schedule of Out Patient Departments (OPDs) from this date. The OPD timing of summers is from 8 AM to 2 PM. At present the OPDs in the Government hospitals are running from 9 AM to 3 PM.
In the associated hospital of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC), the patients would avail the pathology and radiology departments from 8 AM to 1.30 PM. The medicine counters of the hospital would remain open till 2.30 PM.
With onset of summers, the hospital authorities are gearing up to meet additional patient load of the summer diseases. Winters are considered relatively healthy period when less number of patients visit the OPDs while in summers the inflow of patients rise with atmospheric temperature.
Meanwhile patients continue to suffer from non availability of many facilities in the biggest hospital of the state. The CT scan machine of the hospital is non functional from last three months, on Monday the automatic analyzer of the pathology lab of the hospital also developed some technical glitch.
