To generate innovative ideas of science and technology the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal has introduced an Innovation Hub for the students. The Innovation Hub was inaugurated at the science centre here on Friday.
The Innovation Hub is a sturdy platform for the curious youngsters to engage themselves in innovative and creative ideas.
SS Amritphale, Director Advance Materials and Process Research Institute (CSIR), was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Besides, DK Sharma, District Education Officer, Bhopal and RK Austin, Principal of Model ITI, were present as the guests of honour on the occasion.
The guests took a walk through at the innovation hub. Notably, the innovation hubs are created by National Council of Science Museums in association with National Innovation Council. At the innovation hub the students and teachers will be provided with many facilities.
At the innovation hub a laboratory equipped with moderate set of tools and scientific instruments has been setup at the centre. Moreover, there is a Discovery Hall, Innovation Resource Centre and Hall of Fame, technical lab, Idea lab that will further include activities like ‘Tod-Phod (break and build)’, ‘Kabad se Jugad (Build from the scrap)’ and Idea Box i.e. make your own science models and kits.
Further the members can also generate their research projects and will works with the mentors and experts.
Project Coordinator of Regional Science Centre, Prabal Roy said that the innovation hub is set-up to meet the requirements of the budding scientists so that they can articulate their ideas and imagination. There will be a membership process for the innovation hub where registered members can incubate the best ideas, informed Roy.
The Innovation Hub will be open on Saturdays and Sundays.
