Saturday, 19 August 2017 | PNS | Lucknow

Aiming to improve the quality of madarsa education and ensuring transparency, Minorities Welfare and Dairy Development minister Chaudhary lakshmi Narayan launched a new portal ‘madarsaboard.upsdc.gov.in’ for UP Madarsa Education Board in lucknow on Friday.

Chaudhary underlined the need for modernising madarsa education on the pattern of other systems of education and said that modernisation would facilitate job opportunities for students passing out of madarsa.

Minister of state for Minority Welfare Baldeo Olakh said that the new portal would bring about transparency and responsibility in the madarsa education system, besides simplifying relevant processes.

Principal Secretary, Minorities Welfare, Monika S. Garg said that the portal was an effort to link all madarsas to a unified system. She said that payment of grants, salary, honorarium etc. to madarasa teachers and employees would be made through PFMS to protect teachers against exploitation.

Registrar of the Board, Rahul Gupta explained the functioning of online portal and said that around 8,000 madarsas were affiliated with UP Madarsa Education Board and funded by the state government.
