Bollywood producer-cum- director, Subhash Ghai has said that Haryana Government should provide financial support for the promotion of Haryanvi cinema.
“When Marathi cinema could reach from eight to 125 movies in few years, Haryana too has great potential and Haryanvi cinema could also be taken to a new level,” said Ghai while talking to the mediapersons before attending closing ceremony of the Akhil Bhartiya Kala Sadhak Sangam-2017 in Kurukshetra on Monday.
He said that in order to promote art and culture in the state, a special campaign of cultural programmes should be organized on Saturdays and Sundays in schools for the benefit of youth.
Not only this, one class of art and culture should be held in every school from primary education on the pattern of USA. Initiative should be taken in Kurukshetra by discussing the issue with MlA Subhash Sudha, said he.
Ghai said, “I have nursed a dream to make a film on lord Krishna for 35 long years and would definitely realize it one day. MlA Subhash Sudha has assured me that art and cultural awareness would be generated among the students in schools of Thanesar Assembly constituency.”
The State Government is making efforts to develop Kurukshetra as a cultural capital. Work on schemes like Shri Krishna Circuit is being done to bring Kurukshetra on the world map, he added while lauding the initiatives.
Ghai further said that new India can emerge only by doing research on ancient history and culture.
For this, the common man would have to understand the importance of art and culture the development of which requires spiritual and artistic education, added he.
