Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal has assured Giridih MP Ravindra Kumar Pandey of taking measures on the issue of closed unit no 1 (130 MW) of DVC, CTPS located at Chanderpura town in Bokaro district. At a high level meeting in New Delhi, Pandey raised the issue with Goyal and Energy Secretary PK Pujari. This unit was permanently closed down recently by the top official of DVC on account of excess expenditure in generation cost per unit, said the MP.
According to Pandey the DVC had been purchasing low quality of coal and this alone accounted for 70 per cent of the production cost of power generation which accrued to Rs 2.50 per unit where as the cost of production of electricity in far flung power plant was a meager Rs1.50 per unit. However, the cost of production is considerably low compared to the cost of energy per unit in other new units of DVC in the vicinity. The unit no 1 of CTPS has high PlF and oil consumption is very low during its synchronization, Panday further added.
While local union leader Bharat Yadav put the blame on the DVC management that the unit no1 of CTPS has been closed by them under conspiracy which has adversely affected the workers of DVC. Seeing the naïve attitude of the DVC top brass, the Member of Parliament Ravindra Kumar Panday met the power minster and power secretary at New Delhi seeking urgent intervention to stalemate. Union energy minister Piyush Goyal and power secretary Pujari assured of a high level enquiry and immediate redressal of the unit no 1 of CTPS crisis.
Bharat Yadav union leader expressed deep gratitude to the Energy Minister, Energy secretary and Ravindra Kumar Panday, MP for action taken to reinstate unit no 1 of CTPS.
