A delegation of 20 students of Delhi Public School (DPS), Raipur headed by Principal Raghunath Mukherjee and Headmistress, R Bhawaniis will be departing for Japan on November 4 this year.
The tour is part of active learning student exchange programme under the aegis of Japan Education Center and Information in India (JECI) with which DPS, Raipur has joined hands, succeeding the epochal UK Students’ Exchange Program commencing in the year 2013, a School press release informed.
With reciprocal education in mind, this programme is focussed to impart knowledge experientially in Japanese school to the visiting students. KeikaGakuen Junior and Senior High School, Tokyo has been selected for this purpose. It will involve cumulative learning of harvesting crops, cleanliness, martial arts, Japanese language and culture, to mention a few by Japanese students under the guidance of their teachers while Yoga, mathematics skills, IT skills, English and Indian culture will be mentored by DPS students. A 10-day itinerary encompassing seminars, assemblies, debates, on various topics and local sightseeing including visit to Buddhist temples, Tokyo Disneyland has been chalked out which will render the students an insight into the Japanese education methodology and perceptive angle. The student enthusiasts participating in this exchange will also be showcasing Chhattisgarh’s tribal heritage through rendition of renowned songs and portrayal of its culture through folk dances and dance drama. They are being oriented and trained rigorously by the faculties of the school to deliver and absorb the essentials of a lifetime.
The Principal along with the team called on Chief Minister Raman Singh to intimate him about the exchange programme and the tour. Pro Vice Chairman, Baldeo Singh Bhatia complimented the Principal for ushering ambassadorship in the school . Vijay Shah and Pukhraj Jain, Senior members of the management committee, also conveyed their good wishes.
