DPS organises Bal Kavi Sammelan on Hindi Diwas

Friday, 15 September 2017 | PNS | HARIDWAR

Students of various schools gathered at DPS Daulatpur on Thursday as the day was observed as Hindi Diwas, to participate in Bal Kavi Sammelan. The students showed their poetic talent while mesmerising those present with their insight into the topical issues like communal harmony, national unity and even universal brotherhood.

The top three winners were given prizes. While Ruchita Sahu of Class VII won the first prize, Duhita Dass came up  second and Aditi Yadav of Acharyakulum won the third position in recitation.

The principal of the school Uma Pandey said that such types of contests helped the students enhance their poetic talent. “It is sad that Kavi Sammelans are now losing their charm as youngsters are fastly drifting themselves away from such creative events. The occasions like Hindi Diwas gives one a chance to remember and revive the age-old tradition of Kavya Pathan,” she said.

Amongst the participants, while Javed Alam of Braj International School read poem on communal harmony Anshika Chauhan stressed on the need to spread universal brotherhood in these troubled times and Garima Sungariyal of Sri Ram Vidyamandir won rounds of applause for the  heart-touching poems she recited.
