Narrating the tale of Karbala tragedy and to promote Marsiya as an art form, Daastan-e-Marsiya ‘Karbala Se Kashi Tak’ was held at State Museum here on Monday.
Organised by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy Culture Department, Dastan-e-Marsiya was presented as a revival of an art form of Urdu literature. The act was directed by Kamana Prasad and Aparna Srivastava and was performed by Jashn-e-Bahar Trust New Delhi. The presenters of the show were the first female presenters of Dastango Fouzia and Feroz and Heena Kausar.
According to the director Kamna Prasad, who promoted Urdu literature across the country, “There is always a flavour of Indianness whenever Marsiya is written by any Indian writer. This is a story of Karbala which people here not knew and so I thought to talk about it to let people understand its sensitivity.”
She believes that the Indian audience feel a connect with the elements of Karbala tale as many of the ideas of Hussain are similar of Mahatma Gandhi. The Dastango
Fauzia, Feroz and Heena Kausar somehow presented it in a fantastic manner, justifying each and every element of the tale.
Their lyrical words that were presented spontaneously made the audience glued to their seats.
