CMPDI celebrates Coal India Foundation Day-2017

CMPDI on Wednesday observed foundation day of the Coal India where AK Chakraborty, Director (T/ES) of the Mini Ratna Company hoisted the flag of the coal major. Heads of the Divisions of CMPDI were also present apart from large number of employees, their families and wards.

On this occasion, AK Chakraborty stated that since the inception of CIl in November 1975, the coal production has increased manifold from the level of about 79 Million Tonnes (Mt) to 554 million tonnes in 2016-17 and CMPDI has

 played an important role in achieving this mammoth task starting with identification of coal blocks followed by detailed drilling, project planning, environmental and other allied services.

CMPDI has carried out 7.16 lakh metre of drilling till October’17 against MoU target of 12.50 lakh meter for the year 2017-18 with a growth of 38% over previous year.

The Director also referred to the CSR activities assisting under-privileged children in various schools situated in remote areas by way of providing various infrastructures.

It has recently adopted 50 girl children of Birsa School and 30 girl children of Gondwana Primary School belonging to BPl families.

CMPDI has also constructed Training-cum-Hostel building in Braj Kishore Blind Girls School and a hall in Karuna Orphanage situated in the campus of Marwari Arogya Bhawan under its CSR scheme.

At Coal India level, CMPDI will be getting five awards such as ‘Excellent MoU Rating’, ‘Exploration Award (Best Drilling Camp)’to Madhukunda Camp of RI-I, CMPDI, Asansol for achieving overall growth (17.84%) in drill productivity during 2016-17 vis-à-vis 2015-16 with drill productivity of 546 metre/drill/month,

‘N. Kumar Innovation Award’ to Shri Seelam Naresh Kumar, Dy Manager (Geology), CMPDI, ‘Individual Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution’ to Pradeep

Kumar, GM (ICT), CMPDI and ‘Award for best Regional Director’ to RM Wanare, Regional Director, Regional Institute-IV, Nagpur.
