The Mayurbhanj Milita Suraksha Manch demanded a CBI inquiry into the much-discussed Professor Sudhir Mohanta murder case.
The Manch, in an important meeting at Baddakoi village in Betana GP of Baripada block on Monday, strongly raised this demand citing the seriousness of the case. The meeting was attended by Baripada Block Chairperson Parvati Hembram, former Mayurbhanj Ambudsman Abani Mohanta, late Sudhir’s wife Snehalata Mohanta, BJP State vice-president Rajkishore Das, several Sarpanchs and many leading personalities of the area. They expressed serious concern over the death and wanted unfolding of the mystery behind it and also demanded the culprits to be brought to justice at the earliest.
Retired Professor Sudhir Mohanta, it may be recalled, was kidnapped from his Baripada residence and mercilessly killed by some unidentified assailants a little more than a month ago.
