BJP claims CDR fake, asks who circulated document

Tuesday, 31 October 2017 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

A day after BJP State spokesperson Golak  Mohapatra’s alleged Call Detail Records (CDR) found their way to the media in connection with Chhatrapur BJD Councillor laxmidatta Pradhan’s murder,  Mohapatra at a Press conference here of Monday slammed the Ganjam district  Superintendent of Police and termed the CDR as forged.

“Has the Ganjam SP provided the CDR to the mediaIJ Who gave him that fake documentIJ How did he acquire thisIJ” Mohapatra questioned. These fake papers have been distributed in a fraudulent manner, he claimed.

He remarked that let the SP join politics and sought a direct reply from him on some questions. “If anyone else replies on his behalf, he will be considered as the SP’s spokesperson. If the SP is interested in politics, he should shed his uniform first and jump to politics,” he said and demanded an immediate release of the CDRs of all other accused arrested earlier in the case.

Demanding examination of call records of Thesa Kalia and Sanjay Panigrahi, who have been arrested in the case earlier, Mohapatra asked the police to bring other persons, whose names were taken by laxmidatta’s mother, under the purview of the investigations.

He also questioned the police’s authority to record the voice of key accused Krushna Nayak while he was under custody.

Meanwhile, BJP State vice-president Sameer Mohanty suspected partiality in the police probe. “A case will be filed at the Cyber police station. The DGP will be asked to maintain impartiality in the case and ensure probe in a transparent manner,” Mohanty said.

Reports said Mohapatra had allegedly been keeping in touch with the main accused of the murder Krushna Nayak allegedly from the day of the brutal killing. The reports also alleged that he had spoken to the accused a number of times over phone before and after the crime.

Meanwhile, a BJP delegation met Governor SC Jamir at the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to him regarding the case.
