The silk city of Brahmapur on Sunday witnessed burning of effigies of both ruling BJD and BJP leaders over various issues.
Members of Ganjam district units of Biju Yuba Janata Dal and Biju Chatra Janata Dal burnt the effigy of BJP State spokesperson Golak Mohapatra alleging that he has given protection to culprits involved in the murder of ruling party leader and Chattrapur Councillor laxmidatta Moharana. They demanded that all culprits involved in the killing be arrested at the earliest.
Brahmapur MlA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyaupatnaik, BYJD district president N Dhanajnay Rao and leaders K Anil Kumar, Surendra Moharana and Badri Nayak and BCJD’s Sujit Padhy, Mihir Husain, Satya Kuthia, Muna Jena and Mamata Bisoyi participated.
Saffron party activists burnt effigy of Kabisuryanagar MlA Sugyan Kumari Deo alleging that she is opposing their demand of taking over of the KC High School by the Government and separation of the English medium school ruing in its campus. Deo is the managing committee president of KC High School.
BJP Gosaninuagaon Mandal president Madhu Sudan Patro, general secretary Rabinaryan Sabat, district general secretary Rabindra Sahu, BK Sabat, Siba Adhikari, Susila Mallick and Parbati Panigrahi participated in the demonstration.
