4-day food festival starts today at Hotel Jehan Numa Palace

The foodies of the city will now enhance their taste buds with the delightful Bengali Cuisine.

A four-day food festival would commence from Thursday at Hotel Jehan Numa Palace for the Bhopalites. The fest will begin from Thursday at the Shahnama Restaurant. It will be open during the dinner service of the hotel i.e. from 7:30 pm till 11 pm.

Chef Satya, Chef Pradeep Pal and Chef Mohammad Isttiak from Kolkata have brought the Bengali cuisine inspired from the culinary capital of Bengal, Kolkata.

While talking about the cuisine Chef Satya informed that Bengali cuisine is known for its subtle yet sometimes fiery flavors and its huge spread of confectioneries and desserts.

He said that for this authentic food festival the focus has been given on authentic ingredients along with a very intriguing and elaborate menu specially designed for those who love to taste different cuisines.

He said that the menu is specially planned by the chefs that include not only non-vegetarian dishes, but the vegetarian dishes also.

The menu has Bengali delicacies right from Kasha Mangsho which is a local favourite Mutton curry, Bhapa paneer the steamed cottage cheese, Shorshe Hilsa prepared with Hilsa fish in rich mustard gravy, Radha Ballavi known as Bengali stuffed poori, Aloo jhinge posto which is a blend of potato and ridge gourd curry, Chingdi Maccher Malai Curry prepared with prawns, Muri Ghonto rice preparation with fish head, Desi Murgir Mansho a country chicken curry, Shukto Bengali style vegetable, Kurnror Cchakka (pumpkin preparation) and more.

Informing about the spices, the chef said that the spices are especially brought from Kolkata so that the flavours and aromas promise to delight the Bhopalites in every bite.
