A three-member high level committee has been constituted by District Collector Tarun Rathi to inquire into the water tanker scam in the municipal council; payment of water tankers was stopped after irregularities surfaced in water tanker supply scam.

In the committee CEO jila panchayat Neetu Mathur, Project Officer Urban Development Authority Pandey and Executive Engineer of PHE Sl Batham and the committee is assigned to submit report in the water tanker scam case.

After the enquiry report of the scam would be submitted, payment would be released for the water supply tankers.

The formation of committee has created panic among the alleged suspects and committee of corporators formed by President of Municipal Council Munnalal Kushwaha became irrelevant as the committee comprised of corporators which were involved in the scam and including corporators in the committees was meant to make the corporators free of corruption charges.

Notably, Shivpuri MlA and Minister of Youth and Sports Welfare Yashodhra Raje Scindia ordered enquiry into the water supply tanker scam after irregularities were found in rented water tankers during the season of summer. The arrangement was made with the aim to provide water in the areas facing water problems but the arrangement failed to achieve its aim due to corruption.The orders of enquiry by forming a high level committee were given to Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Ranveer Kumar in written by Yashodhra and it was clearly instructed that the payment of water tankers would be made only after the enquiry report in submitted.

The enquiry orders for the formation of committee were given for CMO but interestingly Kushwaha formed a committee of corporators.
