TDP leader Devineni Nehru passes away

Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Minister Devineni Rajasekhar, alias Devineni Nehru, passed away after suffering a heart attack in the wee hours of Monday. He was 63 and survived by a son and a daughter.

Nehru, once a powerful faction leader in Vijayawada politics, who was elected to the State Assembly five times from Kankipadu constituency was a key figure in politics of Krishna district. Nehru, who had recently returned to TDP fold from Congress was grooming his son Avinash as his political heir. Of late he was not keeping well as he had developed kidney ailment and had returned home from Care Hospital only two days ago.

He suffered heart attack on Monday morning at his home in Hyderabad and was rushed back to Care Hospital where he breathed his last.
