Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Sambasiva Rao on Monday said Nirbhaya funds can best be untilised in developing mobile applications for women safety or by other measures. Interacting with the media in Delhi, Rao said, "The Centre releases funds to the State Police department under Nirbhaya scheme. They have released Rs 70 crore for this year. These funds can best be untilised in developing mobile applications for women safety or in other measures", he said.
The DGP, who was in Delhi, met TVSN Prasad, Joint Secretary, Modernisation of State Police Forces Scheme, Ministry of Home Affairs, to follow up on release of central funds to the State police dept.
