University School of Architecture and planning (USAP), IP University organised a seminar on women’s safety at its Dwarka campus. PSN Rao, chairman of Delhi Urban Art Commission inaugurated the seminar. Vice chancellor of the University Anil K Tyagi and Pro VC Pushpalata Tripathi also graced the occasion. From major city planning decisions at a macro- scale down to careful designing of public interstitial spaces in the city fabric all factors that affect women’s safety were looked upon in to this seminar. Critical assessment of the inclusivity of the design of Delhi’s public domain raised questions about the very building culture of the city. The seminar showcased all these myriad issues and attempted to generate awareness about women’s safety through an architectural lens. The seminar provided a platform for renowned architects, planners, sociologists and other experts on the subject to make discourse and find way out to these burning issues related to women’s safety.
