Vijay Singh, the Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company limited (CSPTCl), has been re-appointed to the same post. His new tenure would expire on February 28, 2017, an official press release stated here on Saturday.
According to the order issued by Chhattisgarh Energy Department, the tenure of MD CSPTCl Vijay Singh that was scheduled to end on February 28, 2016, has been extended for a year on a contractual basis.
Notably, Vijay Singh has worked in different capacities in state-owned power companies. He was also awarded for resuming power transmission in Baster region, in record time after Maoists had damaged a high power transmission line at Bodli of Bastar in 2006.
In 2008, Union Power Ministry had honoured Vijay Singh with ‘Institution of Engineers’ award. After completing his schooling at Bhilai, Singh studied his Engineering from Jabalpur and was appointed as Assistant Engineer in 1976 in Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board.
later on he was promoted as Executive Engineer in 1989, Superintending Engineer in 2005, Additional Chief Engineer in 2008, Chief Engineer in 2011, Executive Director in 2012 and Managing Director of CSPTCl in 2013.
