Vatsalya International School, Vadodara won the CBSE West Zone Girls Tournament on Wednesday. The tournament was organized by the Vidya Bhavan Public School, Gwalior. Semi-final and final match was played during the last day of the tournament on Wednesday at the laxmibai National University for Physical Education (lNUPE) football ground of the city on.
The teams of Vatsalay International School, Navrachna School, St Joseph, Bhopal and little Angels, Gwalior had qualified for the semi-final matches.
Vatsalya International School Gujarat has beaten Navrachna School with the score of 1-0 during the first semi-final match while little Angels School, Gwalior has won the second semi-final beating St Joseph, Bhopal with the score of 2-0.
The final Match was played between the teams of Vatsalya International School, Gujarat and little Angels School, Gwalior. Ayushi Singh of Vatsalya International School scored two goals in the first half of the final match. However, Vatsalya International School, Gujarat has won the final match beating little Angels School, Gwalior with the score of 3-0.
little Angles High School, Gwalior was the First Runner Up while Navrachna School and St Joseph Co-Ed School, Bhopal were the Second Runner Up and Third Runner Up respectively.
Sanchita Gupta of the little Angles High School, Gwalior has bagged the best defender award while Neha of the Vatsalya International School, Vadodara has received the best goalkeeper prize.
Jhalak Patel of Vatsalya International School,Vadodra has bagged the best striker prize while Ayushi Singh of Vatsalya International School, Vadodra has received the title of ‘player of the tournament’. Rashi Singh has received the title of ‘Best Promising Player of the Tournament’.
Mahavir, Arec, Sonam, Rishi, Pratap, Ajit, Tongoram, Dharmendra Yadav and Bomanti were the Referees of the tournament.
lNUPE Registrar Vivek Pandey was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony of the tournament.
Vivek Tripathi has stated that Girls Football World cup will be organized and our talented girls will get the opportunity to participate in it.
It is good to see that the girls are curious to play football.
He said that he has been honored to see the talented girls during West Zone Girls Football Tournament.
He further wished them good luck for their future endeavors. Vidhya Bhavan Public School’s Principal Nikesh Sharma appreciated the players and encouraged them. Sachin Pal also expressed gratitude to all the players and lNUPE officials for making this tournament successful.
