Pravin Chandra has been appointed as the president of Jharkhand State Health Service Association (JSHSA) president on Sunday. After taking the charge of the post, Chandra has assured to cover several deadlocks and few matters which have been pending since long.
“There are few issues which need immediate attention. To implement Medical Protection Act in the state, to strengthen the Directorate with few additional powers, to figure out few more pending promotions under Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) are on the list,” he said.
UC Sinha took the charge as Vice-president whereas Bimlesh Singh has been appointed as the Secretary. Manoj Kumar Roy, Shekhar Roy was appointed as Joint Secretary and Convener respectively.
Members of JSHSA are keen to bring the long awaited Medical Protection Act. The Medical Protection Act, which aims to protect doctors, nurses and hospitals from violent attacks, was approved in 2013. But it is yet to be implemented in Jharkhand. The act mandates three years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs50,000 for attacking doctors, nurses and medical establishments. The act has already been implemented in 17 states. Here, too medicos are demanding to implement the act but the matter is pending since long.
