The Garhwa police on Friday busted an interstate gang of robbers with the arrest of five members at Kita Soti village under same police station. Police also recovered two country made pistols, six live cartridges, two mobile phone, chips and `2300 from their possession.
The accused were identified as Rahul Paswan, resident of village Amhar Khas under Bisunpura PS,Vikas Paswan and Kundan Paswan both residents of village Nawadih under Dandai PS , Prem alias Satyanarayan Paswan, resident of village Kitasoti under Garhwa PS and Jitendra Vishwakarma, resident of village Bardiha under same police station, said Garhwa SP Priyadarshi Alok.
The gang was operating in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. They confessed their involvement in 10 robbery and extortion cases including shooting at a bussiness man at Bisunpura when he refused to pay extortion money. The robbers had looted passengers in Chopan -Chunar Passengers train in between Ramana and Meral stations etc.Besides this they were also involved in crimes in Uttar Pradesh. Rahul was the leader of the gang while Jitendra was the shooter. Rahul and Jitendra were wanted by the police in five cases, the SP added.
Alok informed that acting on a tip off Garhwa police led by Nagar Untari SDPO raided in the house of Satyanarayan at village Kitasoti and arrested them. Police also recovered two country made pistols, six live cartridges, two mobile phones, chips and `2300 from their possession. Police sent them to judicial custody.
