Haryana's Muskan Programme to help Govt schools progress

Thursday, 15 September 2016 | PNS | Chandigarh

To improve the standard of education in Government schools of the State, Haryana Government has decided to take assistance of private public schools and other organisations under the ‘Muskan Programme’.

A pilot project in this regard was launched by PC Meena, Director, School Education Department, in two government schools of Gurgaon namely, Government Middle School, Gairatpur Bass, and Government Primary School, Rosewood City.

Speaking after the launch, Meena said the ‘Muskan Programme’ had been evolved to bring both government and private schools together. Each private school would voluntarily adopt at least two government schools in the proximity, and share their best practices in learning, innovative ideas and creativity, said he.

Under the programme, private schools  would even ask senior students of their schools to interact with the students of adopted schools. This would give them exposure and inculcate in them a sense of responsibility towards the society.
