5 IT parks to be set up in MP

In the State, 5 IT parks will be established. Work on four of these is underway. SWAN connectivity will be extended upto block level and regional computer augmentation centres established in all districts. This was informed at a meeting of departmental advisory committee chaired by Science and Technology Minister Bhupendra Singh here on Thursday.

It was informed that with availability of SWAN connectivity at division, district and block levels, high-speed data connectivity will be available at block level. Under SWAN Project, 360 points of presence centres will be set up in the state.

Various government services are being delivered to people through MP Online and public service centres. Regional computer augmentation centres have been established at 15 district headquarters. They would also be established in remaining 36 districts.

 IT Parks are being established at 4 places in the state - Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior. Fifth IT Park has been sanctioned at Sagar, whose work would begin soon. land has been allotted to TCS and Infosys at Indore's IT Park, works of which have got underway. After development of the park, IT companies would produce softwares and establish call centres etc. Places are being allotted to 29 companies in Bhopal IT Park, Indore 14 and 11 IT companies in Jabalpur IT Park.

It was informed that Bhopal and Jabalpur are 2 among 7 places selected in the country for electronic manufacturing cluster. Work has started in these places. Madhya Pradesh is the first state to formulate fab policy. This will help foreign companies to work in the state. Minister Singh assured the members that action would be taken on suggestions put forth by them.

Member MlAs Pushpendra Nath Pathak, Sanjeev Chhotelal Uikay, Kamal Marskole, lokendra Singh Tomar and Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Secretary Science and Technology Manish Rastogi and MD of State Electronics Development Corporation M Selvendran attended the meeting.
