Crime branch Bhopal police seized two luxury vehicles from the possession of three gamblers nabbed for betting in cricket matches on March 31; gamblers used to work from cars in accepting and placing betting.
According to crime branch Bhopal police nabbed gambler Abhisek Jain who was nabbed with his two accomplices on March 31 confirmed transactions of betting using cars.
Along with the cars, three mobile phones and a register with details of betting transactions has been recovered.
The action was taken after information of betting was received by crime branch Bhopal police.
Jain provided details of his accomplices of Veer Singh Chouhan alias Billa building material supplier. Veer is a habitual offender.
When Abhisek was questioned he confessed that they used to roam in luxury vehicles with premium registration numbers to evade suspicion.
The cars were used for transactions of betting which were done in areas like link road and VIP road at Upper lake. Areas with crowds were used by the accused to accept betting.
The two luxury cars which were nabbed have premium registration number MP04-SN-3333 and MP28-AV-5555.
He revealed that people and police do not pay heed to vehicles with VIP registration numbers and which made the work easier and not attraction attention but they were nabbed by crime branch police.
Notably on March 31 three gamblers were nabbed betting on cricket matches of T20 world cup matches. The police recovered 18 mobile phones, laptop, Rs 1.18 lakh and betting receipts of Rs 1.18 lakh were recovered from their possession.
