Minister of State for External Affairs and MP from Ghaziabad VK Singh on Wednesday inaugurated a coach guidance system as part of modernisation works of the Ghaziabad Junction Railway station. The coach guidance system will help passengers know about coach position at different platforms at the Ghaziabad station.
The other improvement works include installation of a water vending machine, a solar pump and lED lights at the railway station.
The Minister also laid the foundation stone for escalators and lifts at the station. The local MP also launched some other improvement works at the New Ghaziabad Station, Guldhar and Murad Nagar stations.
The repairs of platform surfaces, construction of a railway under-bridge near Hindon, six-lane railway over-bridge connecting NH-24 and NH-58 and expansion of shelters on platforms number 4 and 5 would cost about Rs155 crore, the Minister said.
A low height over-bridge connecting platforms number 2 and 3 would also be completed within the current financial year. Work on the railway overbridge at Dhobi Ghat would be launched next month and be completed before September 2018, the Minister said.
Construction of a second foot-over bridge at Sahibabad Railway Station would also be undertaken shortly at a cost of Rs88 crore, added the Minister.
