The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, and Citi India, jointly invite applications for the 8th edition of the Citi-NCPA Scholarship for Advanced Training in Hindustani Music under the aegis of the ‘Citi-NCPA Guru Shishya Program’.

Nine scholarships of Rs90,000 each to be awarded for the year 2016-2017 for advanced training in Hindustani Music in Vocals (Khayal, Dhrupad) and Melody Instruments (sitar, sarod, violin, flute, harmonium etc.)

Eligibility: Candidates between 18-30 years of age are eligible to apply. Students who are benefiting from any other NCPA scholarship in the year 2016-17 are not eligible to apply. Applicants should not be working as professional musicians.

The shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or telephone. They will be required to appear for an audition at the NCPA, Mumbai in the month of April-May 2016.

The Bayer Science & Education Foundation is awarding 25 scholarships (five for Indian students) this year for the Bayer Science Camp in Denver, United States. The theme of the science camp is life Science and Medical Health Issues and will be conducted in partnership with the prestigious STEM Harmony education center at the University of Colorado, United States.

Eligibility: Applicants should be 14-16 years-old and have good grades in scientific subjects, a very good command of the English language and a strong interest in medical health issues.

Vienna Graduate School of Population Genetics is inviting applications for PhD position in Population Genetics. Position is open to international applicants but those from related disciplines, such as physics or mathematics are also welcome to apply.

Eligibility: University encourages young, enthusiastic graduate students intrigued by the interdisciplinary nature of the Vienna Graduate School of Population Genetics to apply for the program within the application deadline. They welcome candidates with backgrounds in either theoretical, computational or experimental fields such as bioinformatics, statistics, evolutionary genetics, functional genetics, theoretical and experimental population genetics. Candidates from related disciplines, such as physics or mathematics are also welcome to apply. Applicants with a genuine interest for interdisciplinary PhD education will be preferred.
