The insurgency infested district of Narayanpur will get a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.

The process for construction of the school building has already been started, officials stated.

Notably in July this year a detailed city development plan has already been prepared for Narayanpur while keeping in mind the growth of population in the city by year 2031.

The working plan includes Narayanpur Municipal Council and four revenue villages Mahka, Sulenga, Garanji and Gadhbengal, officials said .

The plan has been prepared for area of 3710 acres of land which includes financial, industrial and land for public use along with land for traffic and transport.

District Collector Taman Singh Sonwani chaired a meeting in which President of Narayanpur Zila Panchayat Saraswati Gota, President Narayanpur Municipal Council Vedvati Patra, CEO Zila Panchayat Deepak Soni and others were present.

It was also decided that the proposed railway line which is passing though education hub in Garanji would be shifted away from the hub. For the construction of proposed two bypass roads, it was decided that a survey would be carried out and then as per the availability of land a proposal would be made.

Joint Director City and Village Investment Zahid Ali who was also present in the meeting informed that for ensuring balanced and planned development the geographical, financial, social and cultural activities have been taken in account while preparing the plan.

“The development plan includes water supply, waste water outlets, solid waste management, educational services along with development of physical infrastructure, health services and social infrastructure,” he said.

He further informed that after development plan is approved the permission for construction of roads, housing works etc would be provided by village Panchayats in Sulenga, Mahka, Gadhbengal and Garanji.

last month, the Chhattisgarh Government had proposed that the Centre should undertake the “Bastar Plan” for its integrated development on both economic and security fronts.

Chief Minister Raman Singh has also raised the issue of reimbursement under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) Scheme and demanded the deployment of five additional CRPF Battalions, officials informed.

This is following the visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who was on a two-day visit of  Chhattisgarh on May 30 and 31.

The Union Minister during his visit had reviewed the anti-lWE Operations and the development agenda with the Chief Minister Raman Singh and senior officials of the Central and State Government.

The Union Minister had also directed that the installation of mobile towers by the BSNl be expedited, particularly in Sukma district.

He said that new Post Offices will be opened in the three worst affected districts of south Bastar namely Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada.

Singh also laid stress on the expeditious formulation of the Road Requirement Plan, RRP-II, in consultation with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

He had called for the opening of schools and hostels, new bank branches and expansion of radio and TV coverage in the Naxal affected areas.
