Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh who holds finance portfolios as well, will present the annual Budget for the fiscal 2015-16 on March 9 in the State Assembly, officials said on Friday.
Singh who is heading the BJP Government since December 2003, has held preliminary round of key discussions with his Cabinet colleagues and top officials of various departments to decide the size of the annual outlay which is expected to be pegged around Rs65,000 crore.
Sources claimed that budgetary allocation for PWD, irrigation, education, health and agriculture would be increased substantially. The State Assembly will begin from March 2 and will have a total of 23 sittings.
Meanwhile, Singh chaired a Cabinet meeting on Friday at his official residence in which it was decided unanimously that schools being run by the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe department as well as by the Urban Administration department to be handed over to School Education department.
Presently, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe department runs 14,563 schools and Urban administration department operates 43 schools.
