Office-bearers of the Puri District Congress Committee (DCC) on Sunday condemned the delay in the Brahma Privartan (soul transfer) of the lords in the Shree Mandir here.Addressing a Press meet, DCC vice-president Jaynarayan Pattnaik and member Nrusingh Sahu alleged that the ruling party politicians, engineers and contractors have siphoned off over Rs 600 crore allocated for different developmental works in Puri.Though huge funds were released for various infrastructure development works, yet nothing visible has happened so far. Most of the works like drainage, sewerage, drinking water pipelines and construction of internal and arterial city roads remain incomplete. These projects will not be completed as monsoon rains have already started,” they said. They said Congress activists would soon launch agitation demanding probe into infra work irregularities and hold Upabas (fasting) protesting Brahma Praivartan delay.
