The newly-elected office-bearers of the Dehradun Bar Association took oath at its campus on Friday. The oath was administered by the outgoing members of the respective posts. Manmohan Kandwal took oath for the post of president. He had won the election by securing 1103 votes, defeating Rajiv Sharma by 198 votes.
Election officer Bl Gurang said that the result of the DBA polling held on Thursday was declared the same evening. Anil Gandhi who secured 868 votes was declared as secretary. He defeated Anil Pandit by 289 votes.
Prakash Pal won the post of vice-president by securing 827 votes. Shambhu Prasad Mamgai stood second by securing 774 votes. Bhanu Pratap Sisodiya secured 1179 votes and defeated Arvind Kumar Sharma who had secured 429 votes for the post of joint secretary. last year too, Sisodiya won the election on the same post by a big margin.
Ashutosh Gulati won the post of auditor by securing 635 votes. Shailendra Kumar stood second, securing 445 votes. Alpana Jadli won the post of librarian by securing 725 votes while RS Bharti secured 715 votes.
Raghuveer Singh Gusain won the election for the post of executive member. He secured 869 votes and defeated Neeraj Kumar who got 499 votes. lalit Bhandari won the post of executive member by securing 1525 votes. Pankaj Bhandari was second, securing 442 votes. Sukhveer Singh won the post of executive member by securing 1059 votes while Amit Dangwal stood second by securing 950 votes. There was neck and neck contest regarding the post of executive member. Vipin Kumar Singh secured 706 votes and was elected executive member. Jatindra Duggal stood second, securing 701 votes. Tasneem Ayesa was elected executive (female).
A total of 1995 out of 2536 voters had voted in the DBA election. A total of 31 candidates had contested in DBA election this year, he added.
