The first Indo-Nepal Friendship Motor Rally 2015 was flagged off by Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda at the Hotel Mayfair Waves in Puri on Friday. About 24 teams, comprising 120 participants from India and Nepal, are participating in the 10-day rally, which would cover 3,060 km on its way to Kathmandu and New Delhi.
The rally would conclude at the India Gate, New Delhi on March 8. The rally, which is aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between India and Nepal, is being jointly organised by the Kalinga Motor Sports Club, Bhubaneswar and the Nepal Automobile Sports Association (NASA). Besides, it would advocate road safety throughout its route, organisers said.
