In an early morning swoop, sleuths of the income tax department on Friday raided residential and business premises of the proprietor and directors of Neo Corp International Company and unearthed incriminating documents showing tax evasion of crores of rupees.
According to report, over 100 employees and officials of the income tax department accompanied by a large posse of police force first raided the residence of the company's MD Sunil Trivedi located in Chandra Nagar.
The department sleuths also raided 16 other business and residential premises of the company's directors.
The places raided by the department officials also included the company's office at Maharani Road and its factory in Pithampur.
Though the exact details of the raids were not available till filing this report, department sources informed that final scrutiny of documents may reveal tax evasion worth crores.
The raids were made following a series of complaints against the company for the past some time.
Neo Corp International which is engaged in manufacturing of packaging materials has its business dealings in as many as 30 countries around the world, including America, Austria and Australia.
The company had been set up in 1985. Sunil Trivedi who is the promoter of this company is also the chairman of the Anand Mathur Trust as well as a member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.
Directors of this company include Jyoti Dube, Ashok Gupta, Pradumna Sharma and S Agrawal.
