The State Government is committed to improving the teaching quality in the schools. A number of districts are making novel efforts worth emulating in this regard. School Education Department will extend every possible help to such efforts of districts. No lack of funds will be allowed to come in this task. This was informed by Additional Chief Secretary School Education Sudhi Ranjan Mohanthy at a workshop on teaching quality at Rajya Shiksha Kendra here on Friday.
Chhindwara's CEO Tanvi Sundaryal in her presentation highlighted innovations in teaching quality sphere. Residential and other academic facilities have been provided to disabled children at a cost of Rs 3 crore in Chhindwara district. Paying special attention to pre-primary education in the district, anganwadi children have been provided tablet computers for associating them with modern and entertaining teaching.
A proposal is under consideration to introduce this scheme as pilot project in selected primary schools of the district.CEO Dhanraju S gave a presentation on enforcement of dress code for teachers under academic reforms campaign and e-attendance system to ensure their regular attendance in schools. This system has increased teachers' attendance from 63 per cent to 87 per cent.
Balaghat district's CEO Tarun Rathi informed that Mobile SMS System has been introduced to ensure teachers' attendance in schools. Houses for teachers near schools have been constructed in the villages where there was no arrangement for teachers' stay. Masters Programme has been started for improving prescribed grade following analysis of Pratibha Parv's data. Following monthly review of teachers' performances, they are being imparted regular training. Scheme for reading books at school-level has been implemented.
Betul district's CEO Virendra Patel informed that action plan based on academic achievement is being monitored at development block level. The collector has constituted a monitoring team headed by every SDM. After monitoring schools, the teams are taking reformatory action. Sidhi district's CEO Mohit Bandas apprised about pilot project of bio-metric system for teachers' punctuality and regularity in their attendance in schools.
Sehore, Gwalior and Datia also made presentations on academic reforms. Commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra Rashmi Arun Shami and Commissioner Public Instructions DD Agrawal were also present on the occasion.
