It has been an exciting experience for me to be in a villain’s role,’ says television actor Ankit Gera. Zee TV is all set to launch its next superhero trilogy Maharakshak Devi. It is the second edition of Maharakshak Aryan. Actor Ankit Gera who will be seen as the villain of the series was here in Bhopal on Friday for the promotional activity.

Ankit Gera who was last seen in Zee TV's popular show 'Sapne Suhane ladakpan Ke' as Mayank turns villain on Maharakshak Devi and is all set to essay the role of Rockstar Bhasma, a prodigious singer with supernatural powers.

While talking to the mediapersons on Friday, Ankit said, “I am ecstatic at the prospect of playing a negative role on the show. I am playing Rockstar Bhasma, the modern day Bhasmacharya. I feel an actor should not limit himself and shou'd experiment with a range of characters and I feel lucky to have been offered this role. It is in such sharp contrast to the role of Mayank I was last seen as. Not many know that I enjoy singing and even play the guitar. Considering my rockstar look on the show, I will be seen in a modern avatar, playing the guitar - Something I'm a natural at.”

Notably, the second part of the series, traces the journey of Devi, the most powerful girl in the world with extraordinary powers. Devi is the super human saviour of this planet and will protect it from all kinds of contemporary evils that have found new faces and outlets in the modern world.

Devi has spent 17 years away from human civilisation in the Rann of Kutch and is unaware of the infinite power she possesses. Her extraordinary journey starts when she becomes a part of human civilization. She will eventually reaiize her superpowers with the help of her mentor 'Brihaspati'.

The title role of Devi is played by young and spunky actor Umang Jain a popular face in the ad world. Apart from being a part of numerous ads, she has also worked in Bollywood and south films.
