Haryana Government is all set to introduce e-Upchar system in all district hospitals and medical college hospitals of the State by March 2016, under which patients would be given ‘Unique Identification Number’.
Haryana Health Minister, Anil Vij on Tuesday said that with the help of Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS), all the hospitals of the State, Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres are being linked to e-Upchar system.
He said that e-Upchar facility would be provided in the 55 hospitals of the State, by March 2016. After this, e-Upchar system would also be implemented in other 30 Primary Health Centers and Community Health Centers during the year 2016.
In the first phase, e-Upchar system has been implemented in Civil Hospital, Panchkula, Community Health Centre, Raipur Rani; Primary Health Centre, Barwala; Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt. (Registration) and BPS Women Medical College, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat (Registration). The department is actively working in this direction, to provide all hospitals of the State with this facility soon, said he.
He said that after the implementation of e-Upchar System, the patients would get their electronic health records in all hospitals, which could be accessed from any hospital of the State.
This would reduce waiting time of patients, ensure efficient management of queues, simplification and automation of manual processes, transparency in health services, efficient grievance redressal mechanism, optimal utilisation of infrastructure, availability of equipment, drugs and simplification of processes of other services, said he.
Under this system, the patients would also get their X-ray reports online and the system would encourage real-time reporting of doctors, efficient analytics and decision support, added the Minister.
