The Congress party has demanded a CBI enquiry into the case of crores of rupees unearthed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) sleuths from the office of the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department in the city some days back.
Since a huge sum of money is provided by the Central Government to the corporation, further investigation should be handed over to the CBI, demanded Bhupesh Baghel president of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) here on Friday.
Talking to reporters, he said that in all major scams exposed by EOW in the State so far, the Patwari, engineer, doctor, executive engineer level officers were held.
Unaccounted cash running into crores of rupees was recovered from them.
