The BJP on Friday condemned the State Government for arresting its workers and leaders in Sambalpur during Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to the western Odisha city.
Party spokesperson Samir Mohanty said the Chief Minister should follow politics of development instead of hankering after publicity by giving advertisements in the media. “Patnaik has laid foundation-stone of a project of which ground breaking ceremony was already held in 2008. It shows his development agenda for the State!” commented Mohanty.
He said foundation-stone of a bridge on the Mahanadi at Dhankoda in Sambalpur has been laid three times in nine years, but the project is yet to take off. “When the BJP workers led by Jay ex-MlA Narayan Mishra protested against the Chief Minister in a democratic way, the police arrested them,” he alleged.
