The Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Garhwa organised a day-long ‘Farmer Fair and Exhibition’ at Agriculture campus on Friday. The chief guest on the occasion, Garhwa DC Rajeshwari B and District Board President Gita Devi inaugurated the fair after lightening the traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, DC said: “She has focused on providing the facility of drinking and irrigation water in the district. In this regard, the Agriculture Officer and other officers concerned are being directed to prepare an action plan for rain water harvesting. Every year, Garhwa faces drought situation. Today, it has become a necessity to harvest rain water.”
She asked the agriculture officer to organise these kind of fairs in interior areas so that farmers can get the benefit of the efforts of administration. 60 per cent money of MGNREGA is spend on agriculture. Farmers create job card and take benefit of the scheme, the DC added, She again said that farmers can meet me directly if they have any problem. Director Agriculture Science Centre DN Singh, District Board President and agriculture officer were also present during the function.
