The lead Rourkela, a social organisation, on Friday began a leaflet distribution and signature campaign at Bisra Square here in protest against the Bharat Sanchar Nigam limited’s (BSNl) depressing phone network and internet services in and around the Steel City.
“People of Rourkela and its surrounding areas have been facing a lot of problems due to weak phone, mobile and internet services being provided by the BSNl. The company has also turned callous to resolve these problems. We have decided to go to the people through this signature campaign,” said lead Rourkela spokesperson Priyabrata Bhanj in a statement.
Informing that the campaign would continue till Sunday, Bhanj said lead Rourkela activists would stage a silent dharna in front of the BSNl head officer here on Monday. If the demands are still not met, the agitation would be intensified further, he said, and called upon all stakeholders to join the campaign.
