All the preparations for conducting rankers’ written examination for the promotion of constables and head constables, scheduled to be held on March 1, have been completed in the state. A total of 18 examination centres have been made in all 13 districts and the written test will be held between 11 am and 1 pm on Sunday, said State director general of police BS Sidhu.
He further said that a total of 10, 500 examinees will take to this examination for 304 posts of sub-inspectors. The examination is being conducted by Uttarakhand Technical Education Council, Roorkee and its evaluation will also be conducted by the same agency. Necessary instructions have been issued to the centre heads to ensure transparent and unbiased examination.
Flying squads comprising senior police officers have been formed and they would conduct surprise checking at the centre. Examinees will be monitored through CCTV cameras and videography of the examination will also be done.
In order to conduct free, fair and transparent examination, sufficient number of police officers has been assigned duties at Police headquarters level. Examinees, invigilators and other duty officers would not be allowed to carry mobile phones, books and other materials in the examination centre, he added.
