Daily wagers in drought-hit areas of the State would henceforth get 50 days more employment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Sahoo said the State Government on Saturday took a decision to provide 200 man days under the rural employment scheme to people in the drought-hit areas.
Notably, the Centre hiked the man days of work from 100 to 150 days in drought-hit areas after the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved a proposal in this regard three days ago.
