The Bondamunda GRP on Sunday arrested and court-forwarded four persons, including a woman, on the charge of printing and issuing fake Aadhaar cards to local people and seized a computer and a camera from them.
Sources said two youths identified as Sikandar Alam(27) and Moin Alam(26), both resident of Ranchi, had come to the Shital Nagar area and told people that they were authorised Aadhaar card providers. One Sanjib Kumar Pradhan(35) and his wife Manju Jaira of Chakdradharpur, who had been residing at Bondamunda for long, came in contact with them first and to their Aadhaar cards prepared from them. The couple then persuaded about 38 people to take Aadhaar cards from the two. Consequently, the 38 people got their Aadhaar cards prepared by paying Rs 100 each.
On Sunday, Sikandar and Moin again came to Bondamunda and camped at the Azad Hind Club to take photographs. This time, people suspected them of illegal activities and lodged a complaint with the police against Sikandar, Moin and the Pradhan couple. “Four accused have been arrested and forwarded to court for issuing fake Aadhaar cards. Investigating is on,” said GRP OIC G Pradhan.
