In all, 27,718 students are going to appear in the upcoming high school and intermediate board examinations in Nainital. Out of these, 14,774, from both regular and private categories, are going to take the 10th class board examinations, while 12,944 students, from both regular and private categories, are set to appear in the 12th standard board examinations in Nainital district, said the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration.
Out of the total number of 14,774 students who are going to appear in the 10th board, there are 6,870 boys and 7,002 girls from the regular category while 700 boys and 202 girls belong to the private category. Similarly, out of 12,944 students who are going to appear in the 12th board examinations in Nainital, there are 5,570 boys and 5,906 girls from regular category and 837 boys and 631 girls are from the private category, added the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration.
To conduct the board examinations of both the high school and intermediate classes in a smooth and peaceful manner, 108 examination centres have been set up across Nainital district. At the same time, out of 108 examination centres, 36 have been identified as sensitive, they said, adding that efforts are on to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the annual board examinations.
More so, the district administration Nainital has also asked the officials concerned of the district education department to stop copying in the 10th and 12th board examinations. It has also directed the officials concerned of the district education department to put in place necessary basic infrastructure, including drinking water and electricity supply, in all the examination centres in advance.
In case of any irregularity, the respective examination centre in-charge will be held responsible, asserted the Nainital district administration. The annual 10th and 12th board examinations are slated to begin on March 10. They would conclude on April 1 in the State.
