B’swar Gramya Bank ex-agent held for fraud
Baleswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested a former agent of the Gramya Bank, Ratei branch here in connection for a scam involving several lakhs of rupees at the branch. Accused Mrutunjay Swain (32) is the fourth employee of the bank who has been arrested in the scam. He was nabbed from Baliapal.
Energy, Automation Yatra in State concludes
Bhubaneswar: An Energy and Automation Yatra organised by the Schneider Electric India (SEI), a global specialist in energy management and automation, in the State concluded on Wednesday. A specially-outfitted truck moved across major cities, including Bhubaneswar, Puri and Rourkela, showcasing an array of smart solutions designed to serve the requirements of the manufacturing sector. The six-month long road show aimed at promoting Smart Towns and Smart Villages. SEI country president Anil Chaudhry said the Yatra focuses on bringing the latest innovations in technology to India’s hinterland and promises to give a fillip to the infrastructural and manufacturing ambitions.
Hydraulic tyre dismantler inaugurated at RSP
Rourkela: A hydraulic tyre dismantler, developed by employees of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), was inaugurated at the Field Machinery Maintenance (FMM) department here on Tuesday. ED (Works) Ashwini Kumar inaugurated it in the presence of DGM In-charge FM (M) SC Panda and senior officers of the Plant. The hydraulic tyre dismantler is easy to operate and suitable for dismantling of various sizes of tyre. The new equipment would not only save manual labour but also save time.
