Yaara silly silly
Cast: Paoli Dam, Parambrata Chatterjee, Vidya Malvade, Eva Grover, Parth Suri
Rated: 3.5/10
The idea of twin souls immediately catches your attention and you sit and take notice. But that is the worst mistake that one makes when it comes to Yaara Silly Silly. After the first few minutes, the movie proves to be just that — very silly.
While the idea and the concept may be unique, bad acting, bad language and louder and garish clothes — all prove to be the undoing points of the movie. Viewers may remember Parambrata Chatterjee from the film Kahaani. Here, he is an utter failure; one wants to know that after doing a film like that what made him say yes to this project where he has nothing to do except hang his head because he is shy that he has been forced to come to a prostitute to be deflowered. The idea that if a bazaaru aurat wants to be a ‘woman’ she needs to be dressed in a sari and be seen with a ‘decent man’ is archaic to say the least.
Director Subhash Sehgal wanted to make a romance, at least that is what the genre says, but there is no ounce of any romance between Chatterjee and Paoli Dam.
Over all a movie that needs to be avoided because it fails to deliver on all counts.
