CPI(M) parliamentarians from Bengal on Friday urged the Union Ministers not to seek the “hospitalities of tainted TMC MPs”. CPI(M) MP Mohammed Salim in a letter to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley cautioned that “TMC’s money bag” and Rajya Sabha member KD Singh should not be entertained by Union Ministers, as he was facing probes by several agencies like CBI and ED.
Salim alleged that in a bid to placate Union Ministers Singh was sending gifts and hosting lunches. The CPM MP told the Finance Minister that he should not entertain the “tainted” TMC MP. “The day you were to deliver your maiden budget speech last year, it was noticed that you had allowed KD Singh the luxury of hosting lunch for you at your Parliament Office. My head fell in shame when this was brought to my notice,” said Salim citing the serious cases pending against the TMC MP.
The CPM MP pointed out that KD Singh was facing probes by SFIO, ED and CBI. “It is painful to point out that the DRI, ED and SFIO come under Ministry of Finance. As you prepare to deliver second speech as the Finance Minister I would request you to have homemade food and not to indulge people who are being investigated by the agencies under your Ministry,” said Salim.
