While inaugurating the Capital’s first Aam Aadmi polyclinic in East Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the AAP Government is likely to pass the budget for opening around 1,000 mohalla clinics across the city in its Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Kejriwal took a swipe at former Delhi Minister and 4-term MlA from Gandhi Nagar Arvinder Singh lovely for ignoring the Assembly seat.

“On Tuesday, we have our Cabinet meeting and we will most probably pass the budget to open 1,000 mohalla clinics. If the budget is passed then work will immediately start on building the clinics across Delhi and I hope that the work shall be completed in six-eight months,” Kejriwal said.

The CM said, “We are going to revive around 150 dispensaries, presently housed in “dilapidated buildings”, over the next few months where specialist care would be provided to reduce dependence on hospitals.”

As the AAP Government is working upon to boost the health sector, with this they are hoping to reduce 99 per cent dependency on big hospitals such as Guru Tegh Bahadur. However, the Government is committed to commission over 1,000 mohalla clinics and 100-150 polyclinics around the city.

The Government’s new Polyclinic has replaced the Health Cum Maternity Hospital based at Kanti Nagar. Apart from the existing OPD facility such as gyanecology and paediatrics, residents can get the facility of ECG, ultrasound, Xray and basic medical treatment.

Kejriwal’s jibe at BJP

“Talking more and working less lead political parties to Bihar-like situations,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday taking a sharp jibe at BJP a day after the saffron outfit faced a drubbing in the Bihar Assembly elections. Kejriwal also mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying unlike his monthly radio programme, the Aam Aadmi Party Government speaks the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ of the common man. “Our Government gives less speeches and works more. There are few parties which speak more and work less. They face Bihar-like situations. We speak your ‘mann ki baat’, not our ‘mann ki baat’,” Kejriwal said.
