The Central Government has reportedly turned down Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s request, seeking services of IFS officer and former CVO of AIIMS Sanjiv Chaturvedi. The CM had on February 16 written to Union Environment and Forest Minister Prakash Javadekar asking him to immediately relieve Chaturvedi so that he can be appointed as on Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Chief Minister’s Office.
Javadekar is the cadre controlling officer of all the Indian Forest Services’ (IFS) officers.
Top sources said that the Centre is not in favour of the transfer as the case is still pending before the CAT and till that clears the State Government will have to wait.
“The services of Sanjiv Chaturvedi, IFS (Haryana: 2002), who is presently posted as the deputy secretary, AIIMS, New Delhi, on Central deputation, are urgently required to work as officer on special duty (OSD), in the Chief Minister’s Office, Government of NCR. I would be highly obliged if you could personally look into the matter and get the requisite orders issued at the earliest,” said a letter written by Kejriwal to Javdekar.
