A 63-year-old film actor and Congress leader Raj Babbar and wife Nadira Babbar jointly own assets of nearly Rs21 crore.
In his affidavit filed before the Returning Officer on Saturday, he revealed that he and his spouse own movable property worth Rs6.12 crore and Rs3.07 crore respectively. Babbar, a resident of 94 Ellora Enclave at Dayal Bagh in Agra further revealed he is facing a criminal case under Sections 420, cheating, 468, 471, 406, 477A, 200 and 120B for which he had obtained a stay on the criminal proceedings.
Meanwhile, a total of 38 contestants for Ghaziabad parliamentary seat, including Congress party nominee Raj Babbar, BJP’s General (retd) VK Singh and AAP’s Shazia Ilmi, BSP’s Mukul Upadhyay and Samajwadi Party’s Sudhan Rawat filed their nomination papers in Ghaziabad.
